​Painting and ceramics are the main mediums in my creative process. I like to experiment with scale, patterns, and color, drawing inspiration from my Egyptian heritage and Coptic Orthodox faith. My work often uses a wide range of colors, from primaries to metallics. In my oil paintings, I play with texture to make a flat surface feel dimensional and inviting to touch. Whether ceramics or paintings, I want each piece to carry a hand-printed, handmade presence. My paintings tend to be large in scale, while my ceramic pieces are smaller and more intimate.

In a busy world, I intentionally look inward for themes that connect beyond myself. Complex topics such as depression, anorexia, anxiety, femininity, narcissism, and relationships often appear in my work, revealing what people may be afraid to express. These ideas stem from a psychological perspective: how art can help people examine their own emotions or struggles from a third-person view. My creative process also involves my Coptic Orthodox faith and Egyptian heritage, which help me reflect on my identity and consider the Egyptian-American community within my practice. While I don’t place myself in any specific contemporary art category, I am influenced by ancient Egyptian art and Coptic iconography.

Our inner worlds are far more powerful and genuine than the world outside of us. Looking inward and analyzing ourselves helps us understand where we stand in the external world, and that is what my art aims to create: a safe place to explore and express the inner voice silenced by outside noise. My work is meant to let you hear yourself and decide where you stand in a world where most people lie.
