Behind the Studio Practice
Hello, I’m Anastasia. I am a California-based visual artist and educator working primarily across painting, ceramics, and photography. My creative practice is deeply rooted in my Egyptian-American heritage and Coptic Orthodox faith, using art as a mirror to examine emotion, identity, and the profound depth of human experience. I believe our inner worlds are far more powerful and genuine than the external environments we navigate; looking inward helps us truly understand where we stand in the world.Through my large-scale textured oil paintings and intimate, hand-printed ceramics, I aim to provide viewers with a contemplative space to examine their own emotions from a supportive, third-person perspective.
Fostering Fostered Growth in the Classroom
Holding a B.A. in Art Education along with a California Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit, my personal artistic methodology directly fuels my instructional career. I am dedicated to bridging the fine art world with community education, partnering with school districts and multidisciplinary teams to build safe, respectful, and structured learning spaces. By teaching technical artistic skills alongside mindfulness and creative resilience, my goal is to nurture the whole individual—helping students find, trust, and project their authentic inner voice.
